AC Milan playing hardball with Man Utd over Rashford loan
AC Milan have warned Manchester United that they will not pay the entirety of Marcus Rashford's wages as they pursue a loan for the attacker.
Manchester United would consider offers to sign star trio Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund, says The Guardian. Garnacho, 20, has been a key member of the squad for the past few seasons, scoring 13 goals in 76 Premier League games, while Mainoo and Højlund are viewed as key players for the future. However, concerns over the club complying with Profit and Sustainability Rules could see United reluctantly part ways with them. While the trio certainly aren't being forced out of Old Trafford, they also are not considered "untouchable" by the club's hierarchy if the right offer does come in
- Marcus Rashford's representatives arrived in Italy late on Tuesday ahead of scheduled talks with AC Milan, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Rossoneri are keen to understand the conditions of any future loan deal, which could be finalized in the coming weeks. Rashford's camp are also expected to talk with Borussia Dortmund and a number of other European clubs in the coming days. Rashford, 27, hasn't played for Manchester United since he was left out of Ruben Amorim's squad for the Manchester Derby last month. As such, he is widely expected to depart Old Trafford, with a loan deal currently the most likely outcome.
- The representatives of Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala want to include a €175 million release clause in his new contract, reports Bild. Talks are currently ongoing with the Bundesliga side over an extension that will secure his future at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2030, and the latest indicates that he wants to ensure that his new deal includes an exit route. Musiala currently has 18 months remaining on his current terms.
- Arsenal are keeping tabs on AC Milan left-back Theo Hernández amid interest from Internazionale in Oleksandr Zinchenko, reports the Sun. Manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly open to parting ways with the 28-year-old Ukraine international, who the Nerazzurri believe would be a strong addition to their squad. Meanwhile, the Gunners are watching the contract situation of Hernandez, 27, as a potential replacement after he recently entered the final 18 months of his deal at the San Siro.
- An opening offer for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush is being prepared by Manchester City, reports the Telegraph. The Premier League club are believed to be keen to reinforce their attack this month, and they are hopeful of persuading Die Adler to part ways with the 25-year-old, who has scored 18 goals while registering nine assists in 23 matches across all competitions. Previous reports have indicated that it could take an offer worth in the region of €60m to land him.
